Help! I need to find resources to learn artificial intelligence and machine learning.

hi everybody,
I'm a student who needs to learn about Machine learning. I have to do it as independent study for my course and now I am lost without proper resources to study that subject. Can u guide me for some better resource on Machine Learning. I am just a beginner on this subject. I have googled this. But still out of any kind of better, easily understandable and useful site.
