Solution for building a web portal

    Hi all,
    I am new here. I am currently doing research regarding available software to build a web portal.

    Should i use IBM, Oracle, BEA system, Vignette, Sun Microsystems to develop the portal or maybe i can use open source solution to build it?

    Which is better? Any recommendation? Thanks.

    And i would like to find software that can build blog function in the portal...any comments? Thanks.

    You can use WordPress to achieve the blog functionality.
