I read on many forums and have read many articles of how links are being replaced by social signals as the way of "voting" for a site. Yet here is Matt Cutts saying recently that links are far from dead, and in fact are likely to remain alive for some years to come: http://searchengineland.com/matt-cu...-for-links-yet-smx-advanced-2012-video-126842 Any views on this please?
I don't agree with this completely. Its true that social presence is one factor for improving ranks but links are equally (or more) important to enhance indexing and page rank.
My own view is that social media is far more open to manipulation than linking, and that Google are well aware of this.
social media has not replaced the linking process but yeah we can say social media marketing plays now very much strong role in enhancing the traffic and to build backlinks
If you are thinking that you can get ranking in search engines from social media marketing then you are wrong.. Social media marketing do not provide any backlinks its just a way to increase the popularity of the brand or product online
I think links have more importance then social media because Google ranks different according to their backlink profile. Social media also help your website to rank well as Google is now giving importance social media sharing.
Links which comes from social media website are mostly no follow links, whereas the links have to be dofollow if they are meant for increasing PR of your website. Social media is good for branding your products and get traffic from others website.
Well I do agree with the above statement........that social media sites are playing a great role.... For this reason, I want to introduce an app called "Tweetcinema" that helps in getting all the latest and hottest information's related to Twitter!! It gives all the latest details exactly whats happening in the world in 10 seconds.......
Well you cannot compare search engine with social media marketing, Because using Facebook you can get traffic for your website. but using seo you can traffic or ranking both.
