With a Windows NT Service (XP Pro actually) which does a CreateProcess() and spawns a subprocess I'm having problems stopping it (the service).

The service stays in a pending state while being shut down. Obviously because it is waiting for the subprocess to terminate.

How can I send the subprocess a signal to terminate when the service (its parent) is about to terminate?
