This is an easy way of recovering a forgotten xp password without software. Start your machine and press F8 during POST. This will sent you to advance options. Select safe mode and boot in safe mode. Open control panel~ administrative tools ~ Computer management Click on the + sign against Local users and groups then click on users. All the users of the computer appears in the right pane. Right Click on the user whose password you want to reset. Click on "Set Password" A message appears but ignore or if you like read and click on "Proceed" Leave the "New password and Confirm Password" field blank and click on ok. Restart the computer. There it goes without password request.
