    Port Forwarding
A port forward is a way of making a computer on your home or business network accessible to computers on the internet,
even though they are behind a router. It is commonly used in gaming,
security camera setup, voice over ip, and downloading files. After you have forwarded a port you are said to have an open port.

Port forwarding, or tunneling, is the behind-the-scenes process of intercepting data traffic headed for a computer's IP/port combination and redirecting it to a different IP and/or port. A program that's running on the destination computer (host) usually causes the redirection, but sometimes it can also be an intermediate hardware component, such as a router, proxy server or firewall.

Port forwarding is the process of redirecting traffic from a specific port on your router to a specific port on a device connected to your network. This can be useful for running applications or services that require incoming traffic on a specific port.

Here are the general steps for setting up port forwarding:

    1. Determine the IP address of the device you want to forward traffic to. This can usually be found in the device's network settings.

    2. Access your router's web interface. This can typically be done by entering the router's IP address in a web browser.

    3. Find the port forwarding section of your router's settings. This may be under a menu called "Applications & Gaming," "Port Forwarding," or something similar.

    4. Add a new port forwarding rule. This will typically involve specifying the external port number (the port on your router that incoming traffic will be directed to) and the internal port number (the port on the device you want to forward traffic to).

    5. Specify the IP address of the device you want to forward traffic to.

    6. Save your changes.
Once you've set up port forwarding, incoming traffic on the specified port should be directed to the device you've configured. Keep in mind that port forwarding can create security risks if not done correctly, so be sure to research the risks and take appropriate precautions.
