I just made the switch to Ubuntu recently (dual-boot xp) and I was pretty frustrated at how fast the dang thing was going. I did a quick google search and found this website: http://sayakb.blogspot.com/search/label/MakeFast It helped me out a whole ton! Boot up wasnt really changed, but everything else was at least 2x as fast! Hopefully it helps some Ubuntu users with the same problem... ~dbk
