I would like to know how to log into windows vista without knowing th eusers password. I woild also like to know if it is possible to use command prompt without being logged in.
both are difficult. I know to crack into XP without password. But i'm not sure whether it works in vista
How do the IT repair men do it. i have had my computer mended before and they didnt need to know the password, they just somehow got in.
If it is the case, i think u forgot to set an admin password for the system. The user account named "Administrator" doesn't have a password by default. I think they got thro that way
It works in XP. but i don't know in vista. when the logon screen is shown press ctrl+alt+del+del. U'll see a dialog box showing the username and password. U can edit both the fields. In the username field type administrator and just press enter. U'll be taken into ur system using the administrator account.
You can log into windows vista without password. For this you need a live cd called OPHCRACK for Vista. Search google and you can find it. After u get the cd simply boot from cd and it will tell u all the passwords of all the accounts of windows vista on that machine
Ophcrack works very well. So does booting into the command prompt and using the net users hack. Plenty of information on google about that. Also, default usernames and passwords are killers. For instance, Administrator, HelpAssistant, etc.
Due to the lack of LM hashes, Vista passwords stored in the SAM file are harder to crack. However, the NTLM hash is the same as always and can be cracked if the password is weak. http://www.irongeek.com/i.php?page=videos/cracking-windows-vista-passwords-with-ophcrack-and-cain
Sure, but if you don't have any login for the computer and safe mode is disabled, you can't use cain. Ophcrack will work unless the bios is locked, but it will just take longer if a secure password is used on vista.
Yes, there's a way to short it using a jumper, but again... good luck doing that on a laptop without damaging anything. Dell makes their laptops very hard to take apart, and the connection you need to jump isn't accessible by any of the panels; you have to actually disassemble the laptop to get at it in most models. That's quite risky if you haven't done that sort of thing many times before.
OPHCRACK live cd (vista) is an awfully large file and downloads slow for most on sourceforge. The most famous torrent is the one at piratebay. Google Search: "OPHCRACK live cd vista" and it's about the 9th entry down.
I tried downloading from sourceforge and only got 89 Kbps but it probably varies based on time of day or something. Used the torrent and was getting a steady 100+. Anyway, after downloading OPH I decided to put it to use and tried on my family vista. The acting administrators account password couldn't be cracked, guess it was too complicated. Anyone know the future of bootable vista password cracking? I read up that abel & cain might be working on a live cd but would it fare any better?
