Hello friends, I had been using HUAWEI ETS2005 device (please see picture attached) for Wireless Dial-up Internet under WIndowsXp and WindowVista. Please tell me if this device can be configured under Fedora? Someone said to me that it is impossible, but I don't believe so. Please help me. Regards
Hi! I'm not sure about a USB cable but you can configure it in LINUX if you are using a COM cable! Search at the Fedora's site! ;-)
@ neo_vi Thanks neo_vi, So can you please tell me how and where can I find the driver? @ pankaj.sea Thanks pankaj.sea. Yes. This device have a COM to USB cable viz a COM port is to be pluged into the fone (HUAWEI ETS2058) and a USB port into a System unit. Moreover I neither know the fedora's site nor the configuration procedure. Please help. Regards
Hi! The Fedora's site is www.fedoraproject.org at there search for the drivers! But I think you will get many troubles because the best process to install any application in LINUX is using "YUM INSTALL <Application Name>" command in the terminal if the internet connection is available! But if you don't have any existing net connection, you will need to download all the supporting packages which are important for that driver to work! By example, If you install WINE manually and then try to run "Winamp" you will get the error message the "Active X Required!" So while downloading that driver please check all the required packages! Thanks! If you are unable to find it, then reply again! I'll try!
@ pankaj.sea thanks pankaj.sea. Let me first search myself and then I would tell you. @pradeep I did'not tried it in Ubuntu neither I can because I have installed NS2- (network simulator) that took about 13 hours of installation in fedora. So if I try for driver in Ubuntu, I would have to waste my installation of NS2.
