Here i am going to show you basic Information about msconfig. Press "START" and "RUN" type "msconfig". Before you editing something you aren't sure about make sure you make a system restore point so if you doing something wrong you can go back to the Restore point. -General:- Here you can choose from what kinda startup you want your computer to startup in. Like "Normal startup", "Diagnostic startup", "Selective Startup" lets take a closer look. This you choose how you want your computer to start up. You can also take away different stuff from your startup. -SYSTEM.INI:- Here can you edit SYSTEM.INI. If you don't know what you are doing i would not mess around with it. You may also go "START" and "RUN" type "cmd" write "system.ini" -WIN:INI:- Here can you edit the WIN.INI file. If you don't know what you are doing i would not mess around with it. You may also go "START" and "RUN" type "cmd" write "win.ini" -BOOT.INI:- Here can you choose how you want your computer to startup. /SAFEBOOT: If you make a check mark on this one it will start up in "Safe Mode" next time you boot up your computer. /NOGUIBOOT: This will take away the "Windows logo" when you start up. This may also boost up the start up speed but. When you use this one you will not get the BlueScreen of death if a error happening on the computer. /BOOTLOG: This will make a log of your boot up. It will tell everything so have started up during the boot. That can be very handy if you know it does't boot up right. I think you can find the log file in "C:\WINDOWS" /BASEVIDEO: This will start up the computer with a standard VGA Video Driver. /SOS: This will displaye everything so are starting up on your computer. This can be very good to use just to check if everything is starting up as it should do. -Services:- Here can you take away services so you don't need there is alot so are't needed. You should make a check mark on the "Hide All Microsoft Services" -Startup:- Here can you take away unneeded programs when you startup your computer. This will also speed up the startup.
