I myself feel that blogs do better with articles. If blog that will be updated on a regular basis, is good for rankings..Do you use blog on your web site ?

Nothing of that kind. Anything that updates regularly is good be it blog or forum or any other static html page

and you don't need to update your website regularly to do well. I know websites that were not changed for years and years and you can't beat em, no matter how much fresh content you will add!

Yes thats exactly what proves my point more. Those who cannot get past it give such reasoning. I have more than you but the point is not how many of them we have. The point is how do you think your site is more useful to Google users than currently in.
