All the pages on a website are typically used to help search engines discover and crawl a site's pages. A sitemap can be in XML or HTML format and typically includes information about each page's location, priority, and last modification date.

In a WordPress website, you can install a sitemap using a plugin. Several popular sitemap plugins are available, such as Google XML Sitemaps and Yoast SEO. Here is an example of how you might install and set up the Google XML Sitemaps plugin:

    1. Log in to WordPress and go to the Plugins section.
    2. Click on the Add New button, and search for "Google XML Sitemaps" in the search bar.
    3. Click on the Install Now button, and then activate the plugin.
    4. Once the plugin is activated, you can access the settings page by going to Settings > XML-Sitemap.
    5. On the settings page, you can configure the plugin's options, such as which post types to include in the sitemap and how often to rebuild the sitemap.
    6. Once you've saved your settings, the plugin will automatically create an XML sitemap for your website, which you can access by appending /sitemap.xml to your website's URL (e.g., example.com/sitemap.xml).
The process is similar to another plugin, such as Yoast SEO, with the added benefit of having all other SEO-related functionality under one roof.
