Hey, I'm pretty new to programming. I have extremely basic knowledge of VB but I would like to really learn C++. I simply do not have the opportunity to take classes on programming right now so I would like to learn on my own and would be very appreciative of any tips on how to learn or what to do. I figured coming here would be more productive than scouring the web and using trial and error to find a site that could teach it. Other than that, I would love to meet someone who could help give me some general directions or be a guide for me.

First thing you should have is get a Good Book on C++. See the Sticky threads at the top of this forum
