3 years ago i encrypted a important file with "cryptext" software which turned my file to extension ( .$#!) and mistakenly i again encrypted it with winzip encryption .

luckly i remember the winzip pwd but i forgot the cryptext password i am trying since 2 years to decrypt it will tools and softwares but i am unable to decrypt it .

i need urgent help as the file is very important for me .

"Cryptext is a public domain Windows shell extension that performs strong file..."

Cryptext is a public domain Windows shell extension that performs strong file encryption and runs on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4, and 2000. It is available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Hungarian, Danish, and Finnish language versions. You just right-click on any file system object to encrypt or decrypt it. It uses a Combination of SHA-1 and RC4 to Encrypt Files using a 160-bit key, and generates a salt value for each file to ensure that no two files are encrypted with the same keystream. The Direct Link from this site links to the English version of Cryptext. To obtain any of the other language versions, go to the Cryptext web site at and download the version you require. you can free download Cryptext 3.31 now.

The only thing that can be done is Cracking (Trial and error)
You can use brute-forcing , Dictionary Attacks

    I tried Brother .

but none of the softwares recognise the extension so i am unable to crack it nor add into software for cracking . i tried brute , rar password recovery and many more .

is there any way to remove the extension so that it turns back to zip format ???

i tried rename , file extension changer but no good time .

Dude cracking this file is not that easy...
As it is not a zip file...
The encryption has converted the file to a garbage file(no format,no headers)
The only way to crack this is to reverse engineer the algorithm of the encryption software and let it rip...

    Thats the way possible..
    And i am trying it..
    But dont expect fast results..

Downloaded files.zip.zip. Files are corrupt and can't be unzipped. Sorry man. Looks like you lost this data. I'll bet you found a way to remember passwords by now.

I tried man there is no way you can decrypt it manually. That means you have to remember the password
