If you'd choose between PHP and ASP based on the quality and performance of the technology what would you choose?

My choice is without too much thinking PHP because it's free and open. And i know it's great because it wouldn't othervise be used so much.
However, objectively, what would YOU choose? What is more advanced and technologyically better?

    Thanks

    PHP no doubt.

My vote would go with PHP just not because of this thread but also for the functionality and easy connectivity with all opensource databases.

One more stuff I dont like about the ASP is its random features. The same code run on one platform / machine but gives error on same platform but other machine. Also a uniques think happened with me though that same code worked sometime and gave error other time though nothing special I have done between the two runs. This is my personal experience with ASP.

The error which I got occasionally was

    Error Type:
    Microsoft JET Database Engine (0x80004005)
Operation must use an updateable query.
    /asp/daniel/questionnaire/next.asp, line 222

    Thanks
