Delete IPV6 local link address by ifconfig up/down

    Hi all,
    I have faced some problem in ifconfig up/down command (linux).
    Supposed i have used the ifconfig eth0 command then after i want delete IPV6 local link address so it couldnt able to delete permanetly. How is it possible plz give some suggestion.

    For Example:
    ifconfig eth0
    eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:13:D3:3F:7F:37
    inet addr:172.16.170.117 Bcast:172.16.170.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
    inet6 addr: fe80::213:d3ff:fe3f:7f37/64 Scope:Link <- here

    When fe80::213:d3ff:fe3f:7f37/64 is deleted by ifconfig command
    > ifconfig down
    > ifconfig up
    fe80::213:d3ff:fe3f:7f37/64 apportioned once again

    how fe80::213:d3ff:fe3f:7f37/64 is delete.....

    Just check Disable smilies in text when you have characters which can be converted into smilies. I have done that for you.
