How to check the backlink of a website

Can any body tell me how to check the backlink.
Is there any sites or tools.
Please suggest me so that i can check the improvement of the website.
i used to visit that site but not getting the appropriate value... The blue backlink checker is also not working... now the yahoo site explorer is also not working properly

You can check back links for your web page by following method:

Type - Link:youdomain in Google Search box and click on "Search" buttons. Google will display all back link for your webpage.

There are lots of online tools available on internet to find-out back-links but can't we trust 100% on them. I use Google(link:www.*.com) and Yahoo site explorer to check back-links.

This is also good. but have to manually check . if you have more than 900 backlink they u

will get irritated.

If you want to check your own backlinks then you can visit Google Webmaster Tools and it can be used to check your competitors links also.

you can use back link checker tool for finding the back link of your site. The good one is backlinkwatch opne it with .com .

This is incorrect. Google Webmaster Tools cannot be used to check competitors' links., it can only check sites which someone owns or is in control of.
