I'm thinking about creating social network for IT project creator, builders. For one group of people. Maybe someone can recommend software, open source maybe? Maybe here would be people who want to collaborate?

This is an interesting idea, and in theory i wouldn't mind trying this thing (i mean go for collaboration)... however, the only thing i got is pure interest and some basic coding skills and unfortunately, i don't know any software or any other tools for building social networks (in fact, i know nothing about them) so i guess i wouldn't be of much help...
Probably because we have tons of such sites out there like elance / RAC Confine links to signatures only
check webdate (webscribble.com/products/webdate/) and chameleon (chameleon.abk-soft.com/demo.php). in fact there are a lot of them. you just need to chose one which most suits your needs.
