    In the way you wrote it (small case), urs can be the one as it has no closed curves : all letters are open ended.

    You should mention, in which sense, you select the "odd" one out.

    Ans : can is the only actual English word.

    i agree with saswat, although on the flipside if she does give you in what sense, it'll be more easier...(until unless its really specific or tough)
    so i guess its an open odd one out ;)

    Is it really this hard, or I am thinking very critical ??!?

    FEL + AI --> ALIFE
    URS + AA --> AURAS
    CERV + OE --> CORVEE
    BOV + AE --> ABOVE
    CAN + OE --> OCEAN
    UECM + AI --> AECIUM

    So, the above six, form meaningful English words when combined with 2 vowels and re-arranged.
    But VULP + (any two vowels) --> No meaningful word.

    So, VULP is odd one out !!

    Priya, you should mention the sense in which it's "odd".

    cerv, because all the others take "-ine" to make a word, cerv takes "-ix".

    Correction: uemc, because there's no such word as uemcine. However cervine DOES exist (just looked it up). So all the rest make words when extended with -ine.

    Aaah, go4expert members are hard to please. When the hint is given for the question-i.e., in which sense it is odd, it will become too easy to answer. Then again who wants easy question? I dont mind controversies as long as you all rack your brains before hitting the answer and have some fun too in the process :)

    xpi0t0s has got the RIGHT answer- there is no word uemcine, however all others become meaningful words when "ine" is added....Congrats :)

    again good thinking by Saswat, however is ALIFE a single word?

    I also think it's uemc
    But my reason is different, it contains 2 vowels whereas all others contain only 1 vowel.

    Even I would say that there should be some hint.
    If there is no hint and it's an open odd one out, all the people who opt for the correct answer (no matter what reason, as long as their reason is unique and first to appear) should get the prize.

    Like in this case, if uemc comes out as the correct answer, we have 2 people who chose uemc with different reasons: xpi0t0s and myself :D

    what do others (including Priya and Shabbir) think?
    :discuss:

    Priya is again caught in mess :lol:
    And I thought Priya was going to post the new question after the morning coffee?:cheers:
    priya: What timezone do you follow? ;)

    Now, this is irritating. :mad:
    I don't mind if xpi0t0s wins this, but don't say that's the right answer.
    'cuz you have not defined the question so well that it has a unique answer :mad:
    What if I ask you to find the odd one out of 25, 32, 41, 104 and 302 ? (Just try..)
    (Sorry if I am rude, but I spent a lot of time on this :( :()

    And FYI, ALIFE is a single word : http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/alife.

    EDIT: Right answer is defined as anything answer that satisfies all criteria mentioned in the question, and not something that's hidden in someone's mind. Correct me, if I am wrong.

    EDIT 2:
    It's not AT ALL funny to answer a question as vague as this one !

    @ Nimesh- lol...better luck next time.

    @ Saswat- If a hint was given or the question explained more, this would have become very easy to solve. Of course the question has many answers. But as the person posting the question, I should decide which one fits best.

    I post questions to make sure all members get a fair chance and also it is interesting. If you find it irritating, then it is your issue.

    @ Shabbir- The right answer (or the answer I prefer), is by xpi0t0s. However, Saswat's answer is not incorrect. For this case, I suggest the $ can be split between them (if they agree), or as per rules, you can decide.

    Yeah, but you can't ask :

    Re-arrange :AEEIICRRMU

    You have to write

    Re-arrange "into a famous person's name" : AEEIICRRMU

    Of course, then why do you have this system at all ?? If you are the one who decides, simple choose any member you love and send him a $.

    You are actually over-confident that what you are doing is "good for all".

    Priya:

    I agree with Saswat.

    So I suggest to keep it consistent, i.e. to add some hint and not keep it as an open question.
    This way no one will doubt on your decision, as in this thread.
