    Introduction

To my first article. Its about Add-ons in firefox...

A lot of us use Firefox these days, and some maybe just using plain firefox. Although its pretty good even then, you can spice it up and make it a lot more useful with add-on features...

I am listing here few of the add-ons I would recommend you to use

Note - All are working in firefox 3.5...

    Addons

    1) Auto Pager

Firefox Description - AutoPager automatically loads next pages when you reach the end of a page. It works on a ton of sites,Google,Yahoo.. It works well with most other add-ons adblock plus, WOT and most of the greasemonkey scripts. Add AutoPager Refinements since 0.5.2.2

My Review - This Is the best thing you will ever download! If you read a lot of pages, and you are tired of clicking and then going to next page, this is it! It works with go4expert, techmafias and virtually every site you will visit. Use it for two days, my gurantee you will fall in love with it... Highly Recommended!!

    2) BabelFish Instant Translation

Firefox Description - Most easy, highly customizeable, and fast Firefox translation extension: Provides two translation services and additional access to Google's dictionary!

My Review - Pretty good, Easy to use... If you use sites which has language you can’t understand, this is very handy. It has an auto detect feature, thus you don’t have to know which language it is, It will do it for you.

    3) Better Gmail

Firefox Description - Add useful extra features to Gmail, like hierarchical labels, an unread message icon on your browser tab, file attachment icons, and more.

My Review - I really forgot what it use to do, I have it for so long, but unread message icon is helpful specially when you have lot of tabs opened, as it gets your attention.

    4) Colourful Tabs

Firefox Description - The most beautiful yet the simplest add-on that makes a strong colorful appeal. Colors every tab in a different color and makes them easy to distinguish while beautifying the overall appearance of the interface. An essential...

My Review - Simple, Useful, Download it. Makes it easy to sepearte different tabs...

    6) Download Helper 4.5

    8) FoxTab

Firefox Description - FoxTab is a 3D tabbed browsing extension. With 6 attractive layouts to choose from, flipping between opened tabs becomes easier and more enjoyable than ever before. Use the grouping and filtering features, and start experiencing tabbed-browsing in a whole new way.

My Review - I personally found it irritating, it looks cool no doubt, but it slows things. It depends on you, if you like graphical stuff this is for you... I personally didnt like it so much. Plain old tab is good for me :p

    9) Google toolbar for firefox

Firefox Description - Add buttons to the Toolbar to search your favorite sites. Bookmark frequently visited pages and access them from anywhere. Search smarter with instant suggestions as you type in the search box. Share web pages with friends via blog or email.

My Review - Recommened. One feature that is very useful, add bookmarks to google (by signing up) rather on firefox. Then you can access your bookmark from any computer around the globe, thus you carry your bookmark with you. Very helpful other wise too. Recommended!!!

    10) Google Preview

Firefox Description - Inserts preview images (thumbnails) and popularity ranks of web sites into the Google and Yahoo search results pages.

My Review - I didn’t really found it that useful, as you can’t really judge a site by its cover ;) But still gives you a snapshot of it before you hit it

    11) No Script

Firefox Description - The best security you can get in a web browser! Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS and Clickjacking attacks.

My Review - I don’t know I got irritated. A lot of people liked it, but I personally found it annoying to allow scripts to run. It does its job well I guess, but too well for me. Give it a try I would say...

My Review - Very useful, a lot of times you wanna save it for later but not clutter your bookmarks, this is for you. It also allows offline reading mode... Recommended if you read a lot of things

My Review - Simple Clean. Easy To Use. If knowing IP’s of different adds you do a lot, its for you, pretty neat...

Protect your computer against online threats by using WOT as your front-line layer of protection when browsing or searching in unfamiliar territory. WOT's color-coded icons show you ratings for 21 million websites - green to go, yellow for caution and red to stop - helping you avoid the dangerous sites. 19) Firefox Showcase

    Firefox Desciption -
Find the Showcase menu in the 'View' menu (just under 'Sidebar'). The default shortcuts are listed there. Those may be changed using the Keyconfig extension. New buttons will be available when customizing the toolbar.

Showcase can be shown as a window, tab or sidebar. Also, it has two modes: global (which will show thumbnails for all tabs of all windows) and local (thumbnails only for the current Firefox window).

Just click the thumbnail of the browser you want, and it will be shown to you automatically. You may also right click in those thumbnails to perform the most usual operations on them. Multiple thumbanils can be selected by using left click and holding down the Control key, or using the same selection actions you would use in your system. Mouse middle button can be used to zoom a thumbnail. Use Control-F in Showcase to use the find bar.

    My Review -
There always comes a point when we have just way too many tabs, this comes very handy then to directly jump that tab rather then pressing "tab" key and finding it. Very useful and a MUST!!

Nice list. Another useful add-on is Billeo. It has all these cool features that help pay bills, shop online and manage passwords. It also reminds you when your bills are due. Billeo is now compatible with Firefox 3.5 ( addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/12715 )
