    Hello Gurus,

I want to take a dump of a file system daily on to tape having 2TB of simple data in a directory. It takes 15 hours daily via TAR command. I want to use dd command but it does NOT allow dumping of subdirectory files.

Pl. suggest the best way to dump fast onto the tape for 2TB of data.

    Thanks.

    Kapil J.

The time taken is possibly for the disk write. What type of hard disk is being used? Is it HDD or SSD?
