They said that in a tine bit of way also how much a person stays on a site demonstrates to Google that the material on it is worth reading

Yes there are good techniques shred by him but i just wanted to added that these are no more profitable techniques for the SEO strategics because there are two big changes made by the Google in last week as the Google Panda had updated and the Google penguin is discovered. these two things had made the seo work to tough.

 

the above information is good for the newbie but its not that all the internet marketers do the same different folk use different method and apply different strategy for their promotion of the website. but the newbie can implement and learn more about it.

 

I agree about search engine optimization being easy to learn and apply yet it can be a very time consuming . My advice is have fun and enjoy the whole process of SEO. At first it may be difficult since we need to find effective SEO tactics and then get used to it.

My SEO when it comes to off site quality:

1. Comment posting - it is too risky to comment on blogs with irrelevant niche. So I make an effort to create a list of blogs with niche relevant to my website. "Dofollow" blog sites is extremely beneficial but that does not mean "nofollow" sites can't help us. Aside from healthy links, related blogs can produce traffic to our website especially that our comments are exposed to the right audience.

2. Article marketing - though article directories were hit hard by the algorithm, high authority directories can be a great source of traffic. I learned that the links we create in these directories have no weight at all yet if we can provide quality articles that these directories' visitors would find valuable, then we can direct them to our websites.

3. Social bookmarking - There are a lot of high ranking social bookmarking sites in existence that allows the creation of profile pages as well as backlinks. Digg.com, diigo.com, enexpress.net, etc. allows us to submit links as well as post content. Again, make sure the content you provide is valuable to the readers.

 

To rank well in search engines you need to create links especially in high ranking websites. Search engines consider links as votes. So if you create a link in another website, search engines consider that website voting for your site. The more votes the higher your website's reputation is to search engines.

However, this does not mean you can create backlinks anywhere you like. Some of the backlinks you create can be harmful to your ranking such as creating links to websites that are irrelevant to your website's niche or creating links to low PR or authority sites such as the case with most article directories. Moreover, creating hundreds to thousands of links can also look unnatural thus allowing your website to be penalized by search engines such as Google.

I advice that you focus on a few but high quality links such as creating backlinks on high PR websites or websites with .gov and .edu extension. If you need help with this, I recommend Ardor Backlinks and Auto Backlink Services. These are where I usually acquire .gov and .edu backlinks.

 

Title, Meta Description and meta keywords is not the stuff which take your much time, you can just do it in a couple of minutes.

Title - may consist of 3-4 of your main keywords related to that particular web-page

Meta Description - may consist of 8-9 words describing the particular webpage
Meta keywords - use 4-5 keywords withing this.
