You can easily remove that URLs for search results. Visit this support page on Google : http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=164734
Google also has a help page related to the link in the last post, on which it advises: When NOT to use the URL removal tool The URL removal tool is intended for pages that urgently need to be removed—for example, if they contain confidential data that was accidentally exposed. Using the tool for other purposes may cause problems for your site. Don’t use the URL tool to get rid of pages in these circumstances: To clean up cruft, like old pages that 404. If you recently changed your site and now have some outdated URLs in the index, Google's crawlers will see this as we recrawl your URLs, and those pages will naturally drop out of our search results. There's no need to request an urgent removal. To remove crawl errors from your Webmaster Tools account. The removal tool removes URLs from Google's search results, not from your Webmaster Tools account. You don’t need to manually remove URLs from this report; they will drop out naturally over time. http://support.google.com/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=1269119
Go to Google Webmaster Tools ( assuming you have access for the site in question) and click on the tab "Health" then "Fetch as Google" ; you can then add individual urls you want indexed, or if there are many, you can simply enter the home page and request that Google crawl all pages linked to it. However, these are only requests and Google will get many of them so you should expect an instant result. How frequently Google will normally crawl varies with individual sites. For example a site with a history of frequent updating and which has a high PR will be crawled more often than one which does not.
The website has 0 PR so how much time does it takes to get crawl from google or there is any tool do faster?
This post saying we can remove urls but 1 bye 1, I was doing the same but I want save my time so i want to know if there is any faster technique to do this. I have 2000+ urls need to be removed
PR is just one of the factors, and it may be a small one, I was just trying to explain that there are different factors involved. Don't forget that your site is not looked at in isolation, all the other sites out there have to be crawled as well, and although it is huge Google does not have limitless resources so that it can crawl every site every day so it takes these factors into account. The only tool for asking Google to crawl your site is the one I described in GWT.
There isn't a fast trick, but as I explained you don't have to list them all individually, you can just enter your home page and request that all pages linked to it be crawled. However, Google doesn't necessarily crawl every page on every visit.
For those pages which you have removed, are they replaced by new pages? If so you can use 301 redirects for them. But simply having 404 error pages isn't a cause for concern, it depends on the reason for them. You may find this article from Google webmaster Central Blog helpful, entitled "Do 404's Hurt My Site?" http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2011/05/do-404s-hurt-my-site.html
You are asking questions about both removing urls and adding them, and the quote from me you responded to was about adding them.
I have added urls in "remove url" in webmaster tool and now it is in pending status. what will happn after it. it will go to active mode? how much time does it take to go like this?
I did try it once, and when I looked the next day the pending list was empty, but the urls did not get removed. Maybe others have had different experiences. But I did it for the same reason as you and I think that Google perhaps just ignored my request because it wasn't within the guidelines I posted earlier.
Yes. I also read in google webmaster blog. It doesn't effect on my website, well I have to just wait and see then.
Yes i did redirect for those pages but the thing is now they also indexed in google ie example.com/rings/ old page redirected to example.com/wholesale-rings But both pages are indexed in google then it is a problem for seo?
To fresh up cruft, like old webpages that 404. If you lately modified your website and now have some obsolete URLs in the catalog, Google spiders will see this as we recrawl your URLs, and those webpages will normally fall out of our google look for. There's no need to demand an immediate elimination.. . . .
If you want to remove your URLS from search results then you can use webmaster tool where you have option to remove the URL's from search results....
