Please share your experience on Blog Commenting. How much they are useful for getting back links and ranking to keywords. How they work. Any tip or trick most welcome. Thanks and regards
The actual definition of benefit is what we need to understand when looking at commenting on blogs. Let me share with you few examples and choose which blog you would prefer to be part of and comment on. An authority blog in the related niche where you don't get a dofollow link but the link is a nofollow. A new blog in the related niche which offers a dofollow links to get comments on the site. This actually creates lots of comments on the blog but only for getting the links. Now if you opt for option 1 you may not benefit entirely for being linked from that blog but actually you are leaving your link for actual audience on the site and if people find the comment useful they will end up on your not as browser but as reader. If you opt for option 2 Google would definitely see your link but your link will be in the midst of thousand other links and so the actual benefit of being dofollow link is lost somewhere. So now what benefits you are looking for is the REAL Question. Blog commenting only for links is never ever beneficial according to me. I am yet to see a site which ranks pretty much for good keywords only with links from blog comments.

I think you should comment on blogs if you think if you have anything positive to add to the blog and that will actually drive traffic to your site. Focus on humans and not on what Google would do if you comment and rest should be fine.
It’s an excellent SEO technique if done properly i.e. commenting intelligently (adding value) on niche related blogs. While commenting on a no-follow blog might get you streams of referral traffic, commenting on a do-follow blog brings you backlinking credit. Blog commenting tips: -Always comment on niche related blogs -Comment intelligently -If at all possible, use your real identity and photo -Read previously posted comments on the thread -Make your profile link point to an appropriate place The technique works great with me, I use Keyword Country to find traffic-pulling, high authority, related blogs to comment on...I am all for it!
It beneficial to you but try to comments only those blog which has Good PR and your comments must be informative.

Even I agree to your point Shabbir, Blogger also expect that comment should be relevant and must have some value inhabited on it. Usually what Webmasters do is they comment with thanks and all bla bla. What I do with blog commenting is after commenting with acute relevancy i Submit it on Pinging Sites and it gets crawled instantly. But yes getting Do follow is really tiresome.
