Which one is better in SMM?

I use twitter and facebook but I am confused which one is better in social media marketing. Somebody says twitter and some says Facebook.

Facebook appeals to social animals and can be very addicting to people who have an insatiable appetite to stay connected with friends and make new acquaintances. In fact, some people report they rarely use email or IM tools anymore in their online social communications anymore, relying almost entirely on Facebook for email, chat, image and video sharing.

Cons:
* More difficult to navigate and update
* Requires investment of time to realize sustained benefit
* Opt in model requires a user to allow others to connect
* Less immediate responses; unless you stay logged on continually
* Overhead of mashup and “thick” applications could limit scalability, bloat cost structure

About Twitter:

The usefulness of Twitter is not readily as obvious to some people as Facebook; although it may be more addictive once you get the hang of Tweeting; you get more immediate responses and it seems to live somewhere between the worlds of email, instant messaging and blogging. Twitter encourages constant “linking out” to anywhere and, in that respect, is more analogous to a pure search engine; another way to find people and content all over the Net.

Cons:
* Limited functionality; find people, send brief messages, direct replies
* Limited to 140 characters per update
* Not all people find it immediately useful
* Over-emphasis on follower counts
* Easily abused for spam and increasing the noise level
* Relatively smaller installed user base
* As yet no readily apparent monetization strategy

In the end, both Twitter and Facebook are simply communication tools; both will continue to evolve and morph as users find new ways to extract value and either network may or may become a long term winner in the rapidly evolving social networking space. Ultimately, the fact remains to be seen whether either application has a profitable, scalable and sustainable business model or whether the exit strategy is simply to be acquired.

 

Facebook, It got more brand name as compare to twitter. Here we can provide more info not as twitter we can just provide link with in 140 words,too cheap :P

 

I will go with facebook. Facebook has more followers as compare to twitter . so i think you can lot of traffic through SEO.

 

Facebook is better than twitter because you coulddo many activity on facebook but in twitter only you can post some thing and also a limit of 140 character.

 

i would still stay with Facebook just because it gives you more flexibility;
at the same time it is more fun to work on it (a perfect combination of pleasure and work)

 

both facebook and twitter gives my site traffic, both are useful you just need to post an interesting topic or title for your article , product or service

 

Both are excellent social networking sites. They convert plenty of traffics towards our websites. And they both have their own value. But my vote goes for Facebook.

 

facebook is from my side because i feel facebook is much user friendly than twitter(140 word all about your brand restriction).i also got more traffic from facebook than twitter.

 

What a great post! I definitely agree that Twitter provides a more engaged audience that Facebook. I LOVE Twitter and already can't remember what my life was like without it. I miss it when I am away, I look forward to seeing it every morning. I'm having quite the love affair with it. And on top of that a lot of traffic comes from Twitter. Where would I be without it? Writing to myself, more than likely.

 

Very Informative information as per my opinion Twitter is better then face book because.....
Twitter is more professional site then face book so we can create a professional and relate community
only.
Twitter have high Page rank then Facebook
Not allow any rubbish image and update like facebook
Visits from twitter is mostly very unique and visits form Face book is not all time unique because every part of human like professional, youth, older and students are use facebook

 

Both have their own importance. I like both FB and Twitter. I want to try my hand at Pinterest which has been creating a lot of buzz.

 

I use twitter and facebook google plus but I am confused which one is better in social media marketing. Somebody says twitter and some says Facebook and some people says google Plus..:cryin:

 

if you want to do social media marketing in India than facebook is better and if your want to do markeiting in global than twitter is better.

 

There is really no point in this question as to which is better, because they are both free to use and different people will get different results.
