In a nutshell bounce rate measures the percentage of people who come to your website and leave "instantly".

It is usually measured in two ways:
-The percentage of website visitors who see just one page on your site.
-The percentage of website visitors who stay on the site for a small amount of time (usually five seconds or less).

Google bouncing is the abrupt change in SEO techniques. For instance the drop in certain keyword popularity overnight.

Bounce rate represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and leave the site rather than continue viewing other pages within the same site.

When visitor come on your landing page, it may be home page or it may be innser page, if user come on your page and exit this page then it is called as bounce rate.

As for avoiding Bounce rate you should need to maintain a proper LPO (Landing page optimization) for which user entering into website.

There will be some navigation for the users to keep with you.

    Hello,

To Google bait is to tempt Google's suggestion bar feature by typing in a random phrase and seeing what it advises you to finish the phrase with and search for. It is a proven cure for boredom, as there is a high frequency of crazy-*** shit showing up.

When a visitor comes to your site through some links which is actually irrelevant for him and gets into your website then he/she doesn't wait for long. Its just a click of seconds he will be there and will come out of it. Though you are getting the click but its of no use as the vistor is not paying time in your website and this process is called Google bouncing or bounce rate. Too much of bouncing is also bad and may lead to blocking of your site.

    Hello,
Calculate the bounce rate in following formula...

    where
    Rb = Bounce rate
Tv = Total number of visitors viewing one page only
Te = Total entries to page
    A visitor may bounce by:
Clicking on a link to a page on a different web site
Closing an open window or tab
    Typing a new URL
Clicking the "Back" button to leave the site
    Session timeout

What is it. Prank!. Anyways Google Bouncing is a term which generally the webmasters use to understand the percentage of visitors visiting their sites for a shorter period of time and when someone only opens the 1st page and close the website.

Google bounce rate is a search engine optimization term used in website visitor/traffic analysis. It reflects the % visitors exit your website without visiting other internal pages or not staying a long time. But there is no standard time limit to occur bounce rate. But it considers the browser session timeout.

This is probably a dead thread now but there is some real misinformation posted that I would like to comment on. A number of people have said that bounce rate is linked to the amount of time spent on a page, and this is incorrect.
When a visitor lands on a page and then leaves it without visiting any other page on the site, it is a bounce. They could be there one second, one minute, ten minutes or whatever, it makes no difference at all because Google doesn't know. It only knows how long has been spent on the landing page if the visitor visits another page on the site, because then it has a time stamp for the two actions, i.e. landing on the first page and landing on the second page.
If the visitor just exits, it only has one landing time so even if the page was open for an hour, it would register as a bounce and zero time spent.
