    sitemap.xml can be of great help if you want to have Google reindex your site which has been recently updated:

    1. Update your site.
    2. Generate a new sitemap.
    3. Log on to your Google Webmaster account and resubmit the sitemap.xml.

    it is XML file that lists URLs for a site along with additional metadata about each URL of the site.
