The PageRank you see in Toolbar is updated quarterly and is of no such importance apart from self satisfaction.

Google has an internal PageRank which is very close to toolbar PR when the Toolbar PR updates but the internal PageRank is in constant flux and that is you would never be able to judge or guess.

Backlink is more important than Page Rank. Page Rank would not give much to the earning of the website in the form of Adsense.

    Hi,
PageRank is a measure of the relative popularity of a site, ranging from a rank of zero to a rank of ten.SERP has more value than PR.If you have good SERP, then it doesnt matter about PR.

PR is an estimation on who like a random surfer will visit your site.
The more links point to your site, the higher is the opportunity of that.

PR is a grad provided by Google to websites by measuring some points such as backlinks. It is important when you go for link exchange with other webmasters because webmasters don't like to exchange link with lower pr sites and blogs.

    Thanks

This is not 100% true. If you want to be first for keyword with small competition (about 500 000 pages in Google), than high PR can help you to beat your opponents. But if you have serious competition (few million pages or more), then of course links are much more important than PR.

One of the factors that affect page rank is the number of back links that you are getting. Just make sure those links are from relevant and dofollow sites because Google gives more value on them.

Most important measure of success for any website should be ranking of individual pages and the volume of organic traffic to the website.

Pagerank is nothing than a crap. It useful when you are selling links on your page or your selling your website. This is nothing to do with rankings, IF you have a PR 4 site then this doesn't means that you will get loads of traffic from Google but yes if you give link juice to someone else then you PR will do matter for him (3rd party)

PageRank is a numeric value that represents how important a page is on the web. Google figures that when one page links to another page, it is effectively casting a vote for the other page. The more votes that are cast for a page, the more important the page must be. Also, the importance of the page that is casting the vote determines how important the vote itself is. Google calculates a page's importance from the votes cast for it. How important each vote is is taken into account when a page's PageRank is calculated.
PageRank is Google's way of deciding a page's importance. It matters because it is one of the factors that determines a page's ranking in the search results. It isn't the only factor that Google uses to rank pages, but it is an important one.

Google Page rank is based on back links. Back links are Links pointing to your website from another website. The more back links you have the higher your PR will be.
Pagerank is the general algorithm of Google which ranks a site on the basis of its back links. In fact the main element of allocating a Pagerank to any webpage is the number of sites linking to the webpage and their own Pagerank value. This can also be taken as a popularly contest between high interest sites.

PR means reputation of your website from Google's point of view. If a website has a good PR then obviously you will receive more requests for link exchanges and banner ads.

Page Rank is a ranking position given by search engines like Google.
    1) Google gives page rank from 10, High page rank i.e. good backlinks and popularity on google search engine. In Google here is an algorithm for page rank which is used to make /increase Page rank of any url.
    2) Alexa page rank - Alexa also gives page rank to every site. Less alexa rank is says to be best because its shows the traffic and ranking position over search engines.
    3) Yahoo Page rank is also given
    4) Bing is also the same.
    5) Yandex -Russian Top search engine- its also given by Yandex.

Every search engine have different -different algorithm but something is similar
    - Good content, Relevant content, long term backlinks are the most important to make a good Page Rank.

PageRank is Google's patent pending technology that rates the "importance" of a given web page. As per my opinion PageRank is result of your good work and value of your website ranked by Google. It can help you to catch more visitors and give more trust from your website.
