Recently seen threads on Stumbleupon Revenue source and after seeing at the reply from MayJune as well as reading the links I thought I would give it a shot and see how it pans out.

Go4Expert.com normally gets quite a bit of traffic from stumbleupon and so I wanted to perform this experiment on page which gets no StumbleUpon Traffic currently.

First creating the campaign is very simple and product demo tells you pretty much everything you would need to know.

Next is Ad approval which is manual review and so it may take some time for your page to be approved for sponsored stumble.

After your ad is approved you would need to add funds into the account and that can be done through Paypal.

Once you have fund in your account your page would start getting the users.

Now as with any other Ad network ( apart from Adwords ) there are many flaws which I would like to point.
    1. You have to pay 5 cents for each paid stumble and you do not have control over this based on geography and so you pay $50 per 1000 visits and it is on touch more expensive.
    2. Also seeing at the analytics as usual Stumblers are not very keen on seeing other pages on the website but they use stumble to move away from site and the paid stumble is no difference.
    3. If you have seen the product demo you would expect some reviews positive or negative for the pages but out of 200 people there were no one to review the site but yes many liked the page.
To use StumbleUpon effectively you can add your site to StumbleUpon and kick start your submission with some paid stumblers and if people like your page then after the campaign stops your page would still be in the stumbleupon directory and you would continue to get traffic from stumbleupon.

The bounce rate of stumbleupon traffic is pretty high which makes it kind of useless.

This is a good point! As after this you are not doing anything to promote it. Even if the bounce rate is high, even if 2% of people become your member without any pay or anything, then whats the harm :)
    Nice info..
