I recently stumbled on this site while looking for some help in the hacking department. Since it said "Ethical hacking" I figured someone here might be able to help me.

I'm the admin of a forum named KonigeX. Just yesterday I somehow lost my admin powers. I contacted forumer.com, and they said they did nothing. A member said my account might have been hacked. Nothing else on the site has been changed, so perhaps it's just a hit and run, or a random case of a new hacker trying a new program out. However, I need those powers back, and there's only one way to do it. The former admin has been gone for over a year, and entrusted the site to me. However, I left him as an admin. I was wondering if smoeone could help me out and get me his password? Or offer some advice or some kind of help?

    I know this comes off as suspicious, and more than a bit weird. However, you can check the site and see if I'm lying or not. I am the "Uber", otherwise known as the admin. My rank has not been changed, but my powers are still gone. Here's the link, if anyone is willing;

    http: // konigex.10 . forumer . com

    Just remove the spaces.

    Thanks in advance.

If you are forum admin and have access to FTP / phpMyAdmin Access then use that to get your account back.

    FTP/phpMyAdmin Access?

What exactly is that? I've heard of it before, but I don't know what it is.

login as user name and passwd ...Open Your home page and the most down deended you can see " Go to Administration Panel" click on that. If you are unable to login and passwd then click on forgetton passwd ..it will ask only e-mail id. Then you will get admin user and password.. Now you can change password according to you

Now you wanna get power back...after entering fields after clicking on "Go to Administration Panel" " it will automatically will go your phpBB Administration where you can set your power as you want..

So just to clarify... you still have access to your account, but all the powers associated with that account have been lost?

That's not the problem. I log in, and there is no "Go to Admin Panel" on the bottom.

And yes, Dimension, that's what is going on.

Well, it's of no use now. Sorry for wasting your time. My site has somehow been locked down, and I don't think I'm ever going to get it back.

Thanks for clarifying. Locked down, as in completely taken over by a hacker? If that's the case, I'd first see if the forumer admins can do anything for you. If they can't reset your password, then post back here or send me a pm.

Locked down as in, for some reason, 65 users have been banned, the site has been downscaled to one section. Some kind of complete take over. I really have no clue as to what is happening.

I'll talk to the forumer admins, but I'd like to get my site back now, if anyone can help.

    OK.
First, are those users still allowed to log in? Or have their accounts been disabled?
Second, can you still log in? Are the other listed admins (DragonAsh, etc) having the same trouble? We want to make sure it's not a takeover from the inside. Do you trust them?
Unless anyone else here is willing to give you a hand on this one, it'd probably be easier for us to transfer this conversation to email. My profile allows me to receive email from members here, so go ahead and send me a message and we'll see what we can do to work this out.

Only new accounts, created today, can log in. But again, all they see is one section of the forum. All previous accounts have been banned. I can no longer log in with my old account. There are no other admins beside myself and DragonAsh, and he actually logged in today at 5 a.m. No, I don't trust him.

If you would like to help and want to switch to email, you can reach me at metalhead1092@aol.com

nikk you already have a thread - What is maximum size of textbox in vb6.0. Please do not jump into any thread with your query.

You submitted the query as an article and so probably you could not see it and I have moved it to the forum

Just to complete this thread... The issue has been resolved. The site was taken over by the original owner who was back from a long hiatus. While he was abusing his authority, I had no grounds to give control of the site back to KyuuShin.
