    Hey there,

I'm not sure if you can help me with this and I am not even sure that is related to XP, but everytime I use my U3 SanDisk flash drive it shows it as "Removable Disk" instead of my name. I have to change the name of the drive everytime I put it in and it doesn't matter because the next time I put back into my pc it shows ¨Removable Disk¨ again. This started to happen a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if it's anyhow related to the update of Windows XP Service Pack 3, the issue on my flash drive started to present shortly after I made that update on my OS. But bottom line, I can't seem to be able to keep my name on my flash drive anymore for some reason.

Any ideas on this? I appreciate it.

try jamming your drive into a different computer and if the name is "removable device" then it is your drive, if it says the name you have given it then it is your computer. you can then start to track down the problem further.

Yeah I am the administrator on my computer. It was working fine, I'm not sure if this is related to the update made to the OS or with an internal problem with the flash drive.

So ur problem lies with the updation. Usually before updation windows will create a RP(Restore point). So u pls try restoring ur pc to that RP. It'll help surely. and also post ur PC's config.
