    Hello

Browsing through linux today i found two articles regarding the incoming international software freedom day. It's about celebrating the free software all over the world.

    Here are the links:

    Opinion: Software Freedom Day

    Celebrating Open Source

    Software Freedom Day Online

Will your site mark the day? Will you celebrate? I'l do my best in that manner with my FOSS community site. ;)

    Well, now you do..

Actually, there were probably many people, including some in free software community itslef who didn't know about it. That's because it's a new initiative and it is said that 28th August was Software Freedom Day was 0th by the linux versioning system :D . But in reality, it was the first internationa software freedom day that will certainly gain much more popularity and exposure in coming years. It will celebrate the software freedom brought by the freedom software movement and open source.

In one of those articles i've read that some consider this Software Freedom Day that was 28th August this year as a "beta" version of the event since it is the first of it's kind and it's popularity and publicity is obviously not yet at the aproprieate level, even if it was already celebrated in may countries worldwide. So, they kinda don't consider it to be the "first", but "zeroth", like it's Software Freedom Day 0.1 or something. :D

Anyway, we'll all know that the next years SFD would be the second, and counting by the versioning system of linux (x.x.x) it should be SFD 1.1 i guess.. :)
