The router will rather forward the port to another computer or the computer can do port forwarding but I only know how to do it with linux OS. What router do you have and what OS do you have?

If you are running windows then you will first have to enable Routing and Remote Access. You do it by following these steps: 1) Go to Administrative tools in your control panel. 2) Then open Routing and Remote Access, the console will open. 3) In the left pane of the console, right-click your computer name and select configure and enable routing and remote access from the shortcut menu. 4) On the welcome page, click next to open the configuration page. 5) Click on custom configuration and then click next to open the custom configuration page. 6) Click LAN routing and then click next to open the completing Routing and remote access server setup wizard. 7) Click on finish. Routing and remote access should now be enabled on your server. Installing and configuring RIP: 1) In routing and remote access, expand your computername and then expand IP routing. 2) Under IP routing, select and right-click General, then select new routing protocol. 3) On the new routing protocol page, click RIP Version 2 for internet protocol, and then click on OK. 4) In the routing and remote access window, right-click RIP and then select new interface. 5) In the new interface for RIP window, under interfaces, choose the network interface on which you would like RIP to run. 6) On the properties page, click OK. You will need 2 NIC’s for RIP if you would like to use RIP but I don’t think you will need RIP, I just put it here for you to see how to. Now to add static routes do the following: 1) In routing and remote access, expand your computername and then expand IP routing. 2) In routing and remote access console tree, right-click static routes, then click on new static route to open the static route window. 3) In the static route interface field drop-down list, select your network adapter on which you would like to run that static route. 4) In the static route destination box, type the destination IP. 5) In the static route network mask box, type the network mask of the IP network. 6) In the static route gateway box, type the IP address of your NIC. 7) Click OK. Now the route has been enabled and should be working. Lets verify that the route is working. To verify if the route is working do the following: 1) In routing and remote access, expand your computername, and expand IP routing. 2) Right-click static routes and then select show IP routing table. 3) Record the following information that has been added: Destination, Network Mask, Gateway, Interface, Metric, Protocol. And thats that, you have routing. That is how you do it in windows, do you only want to know more of how the logic flow of routing works or do you actually want to know how to enable it?
There is some nice software for linux that allow you to easily configure port forwarding and routing on your linux machine from anywhere in the world go to this site http://www.webmin.com that is the tool I use at my job on my linux server. with port forwarding you basically just tell the router that if someone comes in the router looking for 192.200.20.76 on port 80 (Which will most likely be a website) then send it to 192.168.0.67 (the internal network IP) port 5999 (this will be the internal IP that has the webservice running on that port). So you look for external IP and HTTP port but then the router forwards that to the internal IP and the port that the service is running on the inter IP, It is also called DNAT for Destinatio NAT (Destination Network Address Translation). Webmin and linux makes all that really easy. Much easier than using iptables (iptables is the default firewall in lunix). Mostly with DNAT or to be able to NAT you will need 2 NIC (Network Interface Cards).
Hi, From services.msc i hv started routing and remote access service,now it shows running but I am still not getting console.(in administrative tool option is not enable) pls tell me how to enable. ya also tell me logic flow of routing works????
