Just Google for "Download YouTube Video" and you will find lots of softwares but the format of the video will be flv and you will need flv player to view it.
Of course you can, I always save youtube videos to computer by youtube downloader converter, and the quality is also good. I got lots of videos in this way.
there are numerous things. i use a program called something like youtube get. There are numerous ones on the web.
If your using Firefox, just download Ant toolbar at: http://www.ant.com/video-downloader. This is how I download all my videos from you tube. It will save it has a .flv format. If you want it in another format you'll have to convert yourself. I use VLC anyways and it supports that file format.

I don't. I always download videos through my web browser. From there I can convert to any file format if I want to change it. It's all about personal preference.

Thanks for the info sushilrai, but still trying to figure out why everyone is against web browser ant toolbar? It does everything you need and if you need it in a different format, it's easy to convert.
well i don't think everyone is against a web browser. i think a normal program like all others is more suitable for the job
