I think again it depends on keywords which you target. If your keywords are not that competitive, on-page seo will do the trick but if you have competitive set of keywords, quality backlinks will again come into play..

 

I think all those factors which will use to apply for Google we need to apply those on yahoo as well

 

the same factors are applied in optimising yahoo and google except in meta keywords..yahoo still focusing in meta keywords and google don't.
