Hello. This used to be a hot topic i'd say. As i know, AMD processors have a much more compley processor structure and is therefore faster at the same frequency's then Pentium 4. However, that's also the reason why are they releasing so much troubling heat. When it comes to performances i believe that AMD outperformes in both low and and high end cases. AMD Duron is as i know it faster than AMD Celeron at the same frequences and the same is the case with AMD Athlon and Intel Pentium 4. Am i right? What are your opinions on this? Thanks Daniel
I guess that both the companies are really doing great. You can't compare both of them as far as techonology is concerned... i myself am using AMD 64 3000+ 4.2 GHz computer..... These AMD 64 specifications sound great. I gotta get my next computer based on that one.. 64 bit computing is the future anyway.. it's not mainstream yet, but it will surely be some time. I'd love to be ahead. And if it can run 32bit programs seamlessly, what else can i ask for Currently i use AMD Duron 750Mhz..it's way over the down limit, but i'd say it's still faster than the same frequence Celeron which is being often matched with it. And i think that AMD is resolving it's heating issues too, right? It was it's main disadvantage. If that's solved, my choice would definitely be AMD. Thanks Daniel

please tell that amd turion is havin 512kb to 1 mb L2 cache memory and intel core2 duo is havin l2 cahce of 4 mb then which one is beter 32bit intel one or 64bit amd one and is amd still havin heatin problem
lol this is a 2 year old thred but any way. nowadays i rekon intels run hotter than amd .. like the prescot. i am an amd person mostly becose my friends are at high school. i always found intel cpus so confusion but amd tell you exacly what u need ... ( its a amd athlon 64 3000 at 1.8 ghz on socket 939 k8 cpu) as for size of the cache .. intel needs a bigger cache than amd becouse of the way there made a 512 kb is big enough for most amd cpus. if u want a fast amd cpu buy an athlon FX. i would also buy the new AM2 socket witch uses new ddr2 ram. simply to be redy for the future. soz i misred ur question. the turion is a laptop cpu not a destop. im not sure what one would be best as i dont read up on them much
as i m about to buy a laptop ehich is fast enough i have to decide between hp pavalion dv9000t(intel core2 duo ghz 4mb L2 cache 1GBor more RAM and 256Mb or more nvidia graphics card) or hp pavalion dv9000z(amd turion 64 2ghz 512 or more cache 1GBor more RAM and 256Mb or more nvidia graphics card) and please tell the differnce between integrated graphics memory and dedicated graphics memory and why amd supprts lesser dedicated memory than intel as intel can supprt more 512 mb dedicated memory for graphics
Hi everyone, I'm currently looking at purchasing a PC but I can't decide which is better in the end...To tell the truth, I don't believe that the comparison is really fair in turn to Intel but I'm looking at a Intel Celeron D 3.2Ghz based PC against a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.2Ghz PC. The main differences are the clock speed as well as the L1 Cache banks (intel with 512kb and AMD with 1MB). My question is this, is the AMD Processor more efficient in the end due to the 64bit processing technology and the 1mb cache memory? I know it's not comparing apples to apples but I figured that it would have the advantage... I'm really disappointed that I can't find a PC at my store (in my budget) that hosts both an AMD processor and an ATi chipset...this is really where I'm torn too. The Celeron D system board features an ATi Xpress 200 Chipset whereas the AMD features an nVidia GeForce 6100. Any comments or opinions are greatly appreciated!
