I am trying to recover or change the password for the 'root' id in MYSQL 5.0.67 running on a Linux server. All the research I have done says to "start mysqld_safe --skip-grant-tables"

    How Do I do this??

I am a novice at Linux and MySql.

Thank you very much for your help.
