Mysql/Posgre comparison and which is better

I am looking for the most feasible database between Mysql and posgre, if my application is performance dependent and want the quries to be returned output faster. Compare the two database on the following points. 1. Performance. 2. Maintanence cost. 3. Community support. 4. Documentation. 5. Scalability. Thanks in advance. |

I never used postgre but MySQL is more popular so there must be a reason.
