how to practice my c++ skill

Hi all,
I'v already read some basic books about c++ such as <c++ primer>,<The C++ standard library> etc.,and as we know, knowledge is easy to forget without practicing,so i wanna know some ways to practice my skill with programming.First,i know some ACM sites, however, solving problems on those sites needs good knowledge of algorithm,my algorithm isn't good,if i keep solving easy problems on ACM site,it must be very tedious. So i try the second way---read source code and do some fix thing.I searched the sourceforge.net,most of codes on that is too huge to read for me:embarasse. Now i'm confused what should i do next,do you have some tips for me?any help will appreciated.

I have some small algorithms with which you could start exercising. Pm me with your email address and I will send you some exercises to solve.

You can practice by solving some challenges

CodeChef
ProjectEuler

Secondly , You can work on some simple opensource projects
