Large Screen Size

The phone comes with Android OS 1.6. Android proved to be a most popular OS for Smartphones.

X10 has been provided with 8 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash. 8 Megapixel is more than enough. You don’t need to carry a separate Digital camera if you have this Smartphone with you.

Processing speed and storage has always been a major concern for Smartphone but Xperia X10 is providing 1 GHz Snapdragon processor. It has 1 GB of internal memory with 384 MB of RAM. The micro-SD card slot supports up to 32 GB memory which is more than enough for a mobile devices (8 GB card in Box).

It has 3.5mm audio jack and the reliability of Sony Sound system. The audio jack is present at the top potion of the device.

- A good virtual keyboard which is different form other Android phones in the market. Automated Dictionary function shows 20 words suggestions when you key in something i.e. when you type "co" it suggests "cool", "coal", "coat" etc.

- There are two ways to customize you home screen. You can either have the generic android screen or "Timescape" Spline as the main display.
- Sony Ericsson's User Experience Platform (UXP) :- UXP sits on top of Android OS. Its purpose is to combine your various messages, alerts, and contacts into a steady stream of communication called Timescape.
- Timescape:- The main purpose of UXP is the Timescape feature. In today’s world we register with email accounts, social media websites like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, Orkut etc. To get email alerts or social media alerts we need to have each individual window to get the alerts. But Timescape displays your latest e-mails, text messages, and social media alerts in a flowing design that resembles a stacked deck of cards. Swipe your finger along the display to move through the deck and the cards will fly by. Tapping an individual card or tile will display that message or update.
- Mediascape:- Share and access all your Videos, Music and Photos at one place through Mediascape.
Disadvantages Of Sony Ericssion Xperia X10
Handset is Bulky
The phone is "BIG" weighing 135g and dimension is 119x63x13 mm. Those who have the habit of carrying light and compact cell phones would find it difficult to handle. Company could have decreased the width of the phone to make it more compact. But if you want a compact device, you really shouldn't be looking at a touch-screen Smartphone in the first place. But it is not made for small hands.
Lagging behind with OS version
Though Android 2.2 is available, Xperia X10 comes with Android 1.6. But Sony Ericssion is promising to release its device with new version of Android very soon.
Absence of Secondary Camera
Though the Phone has 3G capability, secondary camera is absent. Company could have provided at least a VGA secondary camera.
FM Radio Application is missing
FM Radio is now very common in Smartphones. But Xperia X10 is without Radio. That can be expected to be compensated by large memory volume support (i.e. 32GB). But still it’s a bad news for Radio listeners.
Multitouch is absent
The price at which the Smartphone is available absence of Multitouch facility is not justified. So I can say that this device fails to compete with phones like IPhone which has Multitouch capability.
Battery Life is poor
Though company claims good battery life, people from around the world complained about the poor battery performance. So I can conclude that Sony Ericssion handsets have continued their legacy of poor battery life.
Timescape Problem
Timescape application is no doubt very innovative part of Xperia X10 but it has defects. Timescape is not working properly as it fails to fetches the information at times and the performance is spotty as well.
Other Issues
You must use a third-party app for Outlook calendar syncing; the landscape keyboard doesn't work in the messaging app; the loudspeaker audio quality is bad and not like other Sony phones.
