Topic of the Week : The great debate: .Net vs. J2EE
Both the J2EE specifications and Microsoft .Net are similar in that both can accelerate and simplify business application development. Microsoft .Net is a platform comprising servers, clients, and services. It consists of a set of applications such as Visual Studio .Net, the Tablet PC, and the .Net My Services. Microsoft .Net was designed to address current and future customer needs about how applications will be built, deployed, and operated.
By contrast, the J2EE specifications are just that -- specifications. They define a small portion of a complete platform focused on server-side application development.
