want to know about Object file and Exe file

This is hussain ... working in TCS ....
I have a doubt that what would be in 'C' Object file and executable file ...
I hope C is architecture dependent ...
My view
Object file - contains Assembly code of the source file
Executable file - contains 0's and 1's ....

can anyone pls clear my doubt ....
