SQL concepts are necessary for developers but if you wish to be a back-end developer the knowledge about creating database and retrieving data from database is compulsory. There are many jobs for SQL developers. Initially you can start with popular database like Oracle PL/SQL, MySql, SqlServer etc.But this world is also changing rapidly. You have to adopt the change but for a long run only the concepts about Sql are not enough.
