Wikipedia has organized an exhaustive list of free, open source software organized all Wikipedia-style (meaning very well). Next time you're looking for a software solution and it looks like you're going to have to pony up the dough for some proprietary crapper, give the open source directory a glance - a free solution might be staring right back at you.

Not yet, maybe someday i'll thank Go4expert for this
 btw, just thought of this idea, i can post a notice (on the notice board) in my college saying that anyone if intrested to get support for there own open source project and meeting whatever criterias should contact you. I frankly don't know if there are people doing projects for open source but then you never know whose conacted to who... If you think its good, then give me a brief of what should i do, what to write in the notice and i'll do my best to promote this....
