I have never seen a Linux as user friendly as Windows. Ubuntu comes close to it but then I am not too sure about how long it will be there.

Like Mandrake Linux was very good few years back but now its all gone.

windows - easy to use (easy for hackers to hack..), not stable, very secure or fast.
Linux - what most programmers, hosters and some hackers prefer, it's open source, you can fix any problems yourself, without having to wait for an update, fast, few/none crashes, stable, secure, and it just works.
Oh, and Linux is better for hacking due to some good programs being made for Linux only, and since it's open source you can make it do stuff it wasn't supposed to do..
