How to tune the Access Database

    hi

    before writing the code in MSAccess 2003, the size of the database is 38MB after wrting the code to transfer the data of one tble to another table it is showing it as 272MB.i don't know what the problem is. so plz help me on this

    Try exporting the database into 97 or 2000 format and you will see the size of the database decreasing considerably. I used the above techniques when in college to email the databases.

    I think if we convert the databse to 97 ot 2000, we might loose the features and securitys that are there for 2003. but i got solution by doing compact and repair databse from tools mesnu -> databse utilities.
