hey m persuing B.E computer engg. and want some ideas to work on some usefull project related to programming and web designing....please guys if someone can suggest some solid ideas it'd be great help to me

Since you are going for an B.E. in computer engineering how about a simple pan/tilt head for a webcam that is controlled over the internet?

Doesn't work, does it. How can we know what ideas you'll like? We can't read your mind.

Best bet as Jim says is to come up with something you're interested in. Do you like music? Do something related to music. Sports? Then sports. The interest should be enough to keep you motivated. There's nothing wrong with a Library Management Portal, except for the fact that you're not interested in it.

Depending on your skills, budget, and time and interests there are many projects that you could try.

If you are interested in voice recognition but you feel there too many people doing it, how about "simple" image recognition?
