Is this something that has happened suddenly (in which case it may just reverse itself without you doing anything) or over a period of time?
Either way it is unlikely that the problem is due to spam linking, but (unless a competitor is doing it to you) I would have thought you would have known where your links are coming from anyway? You can view every link that Google has found in webmaster tools.

I think it is more likely that if you have being doing the same as always your competitors are doing something different that has allowed them to overtake you.

Can you explain what you mean by duplicate words and content relevant to your site?

There is one word which occurs 9,184 times on my site, one 6,628 times and another 6,461
(from GWTools). I have many others which are duplicated, and this isn't an issue.

Because your site content is noway related to what was searched for and so your ranking is down.

There are so many possible reasons for a site to drop down in the rankings, and perhaps it would help if you would give the site name and the keywords that are affected.

Hi,
I agreed. There are several reasons of drop in the keyword ranking. Only spam links are not the reason.
Analyze your strategy and improve the content of your website. I think, this will help you to have a lift in the keywords.

Sometimes it depends about the description also. If it is provides information which is different with the keywords selected then it might happen.
