It's simple: just highlight some text on a web page, right click on it and select the menu option "Search the web for [your highlighted text]." Don't want this to be Google but your favorite search engine? This works using the default web search engine set in your browser preferences, so it can surely be something other than Google.

Note: This doesn't work with IE

For Firefox you dont need to install anything, but for IE you'll need the Google Toolbar installed.
