    Hi ,
    I am new Web application and i have some urgent updates related with JSP, when we place an war in the tomcat server and restart the httpd service , the respective war folder and ROOT folder will create

    for eg : samp.war when placed under /tomcat5/webapps/ and restarted the httpd services a
    samp and ROOT folders are get created which both folder contains the same data,
    why ROOT folder is created is it compulsory required , what's the advantage
